emilies families
You won’t find matching outfits or manicured smiles here. This is family photography, but not as you know it.
Shot in the soft light of your everyday life, these sessions unfold slowly — without poses, without pressure. An art directed version of your life - or maybe, simply capturing your already artful life.
The images focus on the quiet choreography of connection: a glance, a gesture, a moment held still, styled in a way that feels intentional, natural enough to feel effortless. The result is imagery that sits somewhere between an editorial spread and a Norman Rockwell painting — elegant, understated, and deeply personal.
Less performance, more presence. Less perfection, more poetry.
LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY FOR MODERN FAMILIES
WHAT TO EXPECT
Each session begins with thoughtful pre-production — together we’ll define the overall look and feel of the shoot, from wardrobe choices to color palette, location and theme. We might shoot entirely at home, or mix in a visit to a favorite diner, take a dip at the lake, or walk to your neighborhood playground. You’ll receive a detailed style guide and a custom mood board tailored to your family’s aesthetic, so everything feels cohesive, considered, and elevated before we even begin.
On the day of, the experience is calm, intuitive, and rooted in real life. We’ll spend 2-3 hours moving through your chosen setting or settings, following the natural rhythm of your day. There’s no pressure to perform. We might cook, explore, play, or simply follow the light. I’ll offer gentle guidance throughout, but nothing is overly posed.
The result is a collection of honest, artful images — portraits that reflect your family with style and soul, created with intention but never forced.
THE WORK
Rooted in a background in advertising and editorial photography, my work brings a refined visual language to the everyday. I photograph families the way I see them: through a lens shaped by thought through art direction, a nuanced understanding of light, a natural synergy with kids and a penchant for grabbing a frame at exactly the right moment.
My style is relaxed but intentional: relying on intuition, seeking out honest emotion, and exuding an inherent editorial sensibility that favors quiet beauty over forced perfection. I’m drawn to the in-between moments: hands reaching, eyes soft, bodies engaged in their surroundings — composed with a clean, modern aesthetic and a focus on timelessness.
